About The Event

About the Event

Since its inception, women have brought their uncertainty about living in the face of loss to Women Alone Together. Whether a loss is recent or in the distant past, the time before the holidays revealed itself as a time well-suited for reflection and reminders of how to move forward.

Again this year, our gathering will be virtual. Those of us who have participated in the past will feel the presence of the faces in those little boxes along with that of our leader, Ron Greer.

About our leader

This event allows us to again experience the wisdom of this member of the Board of Women Alone Together and faithful counselor to many. We are always comforted by his thoughts and presence.

An ordained United Methodist minister, Ron is the Director of the Pastoral Counseling Service at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta, where he has served for over 30 years. He is a Fellow with the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Ron is the author of four books. His most recent, The Path of Compassion: Living with Heart, Soul, and Mind, is a call for compassion and a guide for engaging that compassion, effectively and meaningfully.  It is about  uniting our heartfelt empathy with acts of kindness that make a  difference in the lives of others.

Find more on his website, ronaldjgreer.com.

Ron is a frequent speaker at  conferences, churches, and organizations on a variety of issues including parenting young adults, grief and its healing, integrity, personal growth and marriage enrichment. A native of Louisiana, Ron has a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University, a Master of Divinity from Emory University and a Master of Theology in pastoral counseling from Columbia Theological Seminary. Ron and his late wife Karen were married for 49 years. He is the proud dad of two adult children - Patrick and Brooke - and grandfather of three delightful grandsons.
