About The Event

About the Event

From the inception of Women Alone Together, providing opportunities for women to deal with loss has been a key objective. A Saturday morning before the holidays with a counselor soon became an annual event. Women come or bring friends who have experienced the recent loss of a loved one or a painful change in circumstance. Some come to acknowledge that pain that always lingers. We do this with those who understand it is a part of who we are now. We leave with peace and perhaps a new perspective. We are grateful for the company of others.

About our Discussion Leader

Our presenter and leader for the morning will be Andrea DeWalt, Ph. D.

Andrea completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. She earned her Master of Science degree at Radford University, then enrolled at the University of Georgia, in Athens, where she earned her Doctorate. She has a Ph.D. in Psychology, with minors in Developmental psychopathology and Preschool development. Andrea has worked in schools, as well as public and private clinics with children and adults since entering the field. She most recently earned a Master of Religion and Public Life degree in the seminary at Candler School of Theology at Emory University.

Andrea is a licensed psychologist who works at Peachtree Road Counseling Service with individuals to maximize wellness. She sees adult individuals and couples to address relationship or personal issues, as well as young children and adolescents, to address functional and adjustment difficulties.
